2021 Event Calendar

In response to the latest lockdown extension announced by the NSW Government, Bowls NSW Ltd has provided an update on the status of all remaining 2021 State events. Please note, any rescheduled dates for 2021 events are FINAL – there will be no further postponement of events in 2021.

Updates have been provided for:

• NSW Over 40’s Pairs Championship – CANCELLED

The NSW Over 40’s Pairs Championship has been cancelled for 2021. All entries into the event will be refunded in due course.

• Open Gender & Women’s State Championships – CANCELLED

Due to the significant reduction in available calendar space for the remainder of 2021, the tough decision has been made to cancel the 2021 Open Gender and Women’s State Championships.

With several Districts/Regions/Zones yet to complete championships in respective disciplines, the decision not to postpone the event into next year was made with the intention of providing clubs, districts and regions/zones the best possible opportunity of completing all scheduled 2021 events without also impacting on 2022 events and calendar.

All entries into the 2021 Womens State Championships will be refunded in due course.

Regions/Zones do not have to complete their 2021 Championships, however, are encouraged to do so where possible.

Regions/Zones scheduling any Championships must give consideration to clubs completing their Club Singles and Pairs Championships to give them the opportunity to enter the State Champion of Club Champion events.

Bowls NSW Ltd would like to thank South Tamworth, West Tamworth and Ettalong Bowling Clubs for their understanding and support throughout this process.

• Women’s State Pennant Finals – POSTPONED & NEW VENUES CONFIRMED

The 2021 Women’s State Pennant Finals will now be held at Forster Bowling Club. The Grade 2 & 3 State Pennant Finals will take place from 19th – 21st October. The Grade 1 & 4 State Pennant Finals will take place from 22nd – 24th October.

Clubs and Regions will now have until 3rd October 2021 to complete their Regional Pennant Finals and have team entries submitted.

Bowls NSW Ltd acknowledges the support of Kingscliff, Pottsville, Banora and Cabarita Bowls Clubs in the change of venues due to the difficulties associated with the Queensland border closure. We look forward to hosting the State Pennant Finals at Forster Bowling Club and thank the club for offering their support to the event.

• Open Gender State Pennant Finals (Grades 1-7) – POSTPONED & NEW VENUES CONFIRMED

All Open Gender State Pennant Finals (Grades 1-7) will now be held from 15th – 17th October. All Grades will be playing at the same host venues, except for Grade 4.

Grade 4 will be hosted by West Dubbo in conjunction with Dubbo Macquarie Club.

Bowls NSW Ltd would like to thank all host venues for their cooperation in rescheduling the Open Gender State Pennant Finals.

It would also like to thank West Dubbo and Dubbo Macquarie for their acceptance to become hosts for Grade 4 finals at short notice.

• Women’s Champion of Club Champion Singles – RESCHEDULED DATES CONFIRMED

The 2021 Women’s Champion of Club Champion Singles will now take place from 23rd – 26th November at Port City and Lake Cathie Bowling Clubs.

Any club champions entered in the event who are unable to play on these rescheduled dates must contact Bowls NSW Ltd immediately via email at entries@womensbowlsnsw.org.

• Women’s Champion of Club Champion Pairs – RUNNING AS SCHEDULED

The 2021 Champion of Club Champion Pairs will run as scheduled from 18th – 21st November at Club Merrylands and Guildford Bowling Club. The entry closing date has been extended to 25th October 2021.

• Men’s Champion of Club Champion Singles & Pairs – RUNNING AS SCHEDULED

The 2021 Men’s Champion of Club Champion Singles and Pairs will run as scheduled from 22nd – 26th November at South Tamworth Bowling Club. The entry closing date for these events has been extended to 8th November 2021.

• NSW Rookies Singles & Pairs – RUNNING AS SCHEDULED

The 2021 NSW Rookies Singles and Pairs Competition will run as scheduled on the following dates:

Rookie Pairs Qualifying: 30th – 31st October

Rookie Singles Qualifying: 13th – 14th November

Rookie Pairs and Singles State Finals: 4th – 5th December

The entry closing date for this event is 20th September 2021, and the State Finals will be hosted by Raymond Terrace Bowling Club.

• State Junior Championships – RUNNING AS SCHEDULED

The 2021 State Junior Championships will run as scheduled from 25th – 28th September at Warilla Bowling and Recreation Club.
